About Me

I am Leslie, and I am a counselor that specializes in working with older adults, their loved ones, and their caregivers.  I believe that it is never too late to live a positive and satisfying life, and therapy can play a role in finding that happiness.  Older adulthood often encompasses many changes: retirement, death or illness of a spouse, birth of grandchildren.  It is sometimes hard to adjust to change, and that is where mental health becomes important.  I want to help you live a life full of joy and wellness.

I attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology.  I then went straight to law school where I graduated from Harvard Law School in 1998.  After practicing law for ten years and then staying home with my daughter, I wanted to do something different.  I decided to support people in their journey towards holistic well-being.  I graduated from Wake Forest University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in December of 2024.

At Wake Forest, I completed extensive training in clinical mental health counseling.  I also served as an intern at Southlight Healthcare which specializes in drug and alcohol abuse.  At Southlight I conducted group therapy as well as individual therapy sessions with adult clients of all ages.  My therapeutic approach is eclectic, meaning that I draw from various counseling theories.  I use those interventions that will work best for each individual client.

I live in Cary, North Carolina with my husband of 29 years and my sixteen-year-old daughter.  We are the proud owners of a very loud beagle named Andy.  When I am not working, I am usually spending time with family (immediate and extended).  In the winter I love traveling to Sugar Mountain, North Carolina where my husband and I ski and my daughter snowboards.  I have found my happiness, and I want to help you find yours.
